Jeez! I got nervous when I saw this before I read it! I have a 2005 Ford 500 and I already had 2 recalls! one minor, one fairly major. I like my car but I would not be happy if there was ANOTHER recall!

I know the F150 is pretty popular, and you don't see these things very often
on TV news unless there's a lawsuit involved it seems, so I thought it could
be helpful to spread the word, breaking power is pretty important...

Sorry to have scared you Gracie! Big Hugg {{{{{Gracie}}}}} :o)

Yes, breaking power is! My car was recalled once for the "straps that held the gas tank in place weren't strong enough". So once I heard that, all I could think of every time I got in the car is merrily driving along and having my gas tank drop off. Accompanied by the sparks it would cause by the road friction, followed by the big BOOM of the explosion. Needless to say, I had that taken care of first thing!

LOL Well gas tanks are a lot less explosive than most people think thanks to movies
where they seem to blow up for the least likely reasons, but indeed something to have fixed.

I had one on my last Plymouth Fury, had a hole rusted through the top of it,
wondered for almost a year after having it why I always smelled gas and when
ever it rained I would end up with carburation troubles, was under it with lit ciggies
time and time again working on different things never knowing at all the tank had
a hole big enough to put a toilet into... Found out when I had to get my Y pipe welded
and they tipped the car from the passenger side and about 3 gallons spilled out
on the garage floor... Got a new tank right away of course.

If you ever watch the "Myth Busters" on the Discovery channel, they devote a whole
episode to trying to blow them up and only succeeded with using tracer rounds
from a high power rifle. So they are pretty safe under most of the worst possible situations :o)

Yeah, but when it comes to driving, I'm already a nervous nelly! I need NOTHING to make it any worse! I understand what you are saying about the tank. I just couldn't get around that it could drop partway, be dragging in the road, sparking all over the place.. Like I said, nervous nelly. At least when it comes to driving.

Now that I can totally relate to, there are so many things to fret over
when driving any more, between stupid one way streets going the wrong darn way,
to an extra 50 billion teenagers driving in circles, and now with the extended license
program (here in NY anyway, it's a 8 Yr renewal program), all those blind crazy
already a little too old to be behind the wheel people are adding up fast...

Have to be on our toes to get out alive LOL :o)
Thankfully we're young and still have our wits about us ;o)

I left my wits behind years ago! And I have no idea where my youth went!
